Here’s how we are helping support our local mission.
The Compass is a critical social and food service in south Mississauga. Created in 2002 by three churches, The Compass provides a safe and welcoming place for people to come to for help. They offer immediate assistance with food, and then work with clients, offering practical and spiritual support to the challenges that often come along with a low income.
Clarkson Road’s congregation is happy to partner with The Compass through food drives, toy drives, winter gear collection, and volunteer assistance. Together, we provide “help for today and hope for tomorrow”.
Indwell is a Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness and belonging. They provide supportive housing to more than 700 households in southern Ontario through their various programs. The housing they provide is permanent, and every program is built with sustainability in mind.
New residents of Indwell’s Lakeshore Lofts in Port Credit received welcome bags prepared by Clarkson Road’s congregation. These welcome bags contained items such as paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, dish soap, hand soap, tea towels, etc. Clarkson Road will continue to support Indwell’s ministry as we help spread the message of God’s love throughout our communities.
Clarkson Road has supported Evangel Hall Mission for many years. Throughout the year, we collect used clothing and other personal items to be distributed to the clients of Evangel Hall. Once a year, a team goes to Evangel Hall to prepare and serve dinner and worship with the clients.
Presbyterians Sharing is the national church fund that supports the mission and ministries we do together in Canada and around the world.
Presbyterians are sharing in a wide range of ministries from encouraging and equipping congregational renewal and development, to supporting inner city, native, refugee, urban, remote and chaplaincy ministries in Canada, to sending mission personnel to work with international partners.
Clarkson Road actively supports the work of Presbyterians Sharing through our offerings.
