DESCRIPTION:JANUARY COLLECTION\nDROP-OFF BY JANUARY 31\n“How can we love our neighbour?” is a question we are constantly asking ourselves.  One of the ways Clarkson Road is responding to this question is by supporting The Compass Foodbank and Outreach Centre in Port Credit.\n\nThroughout the month of January\, we will be collecting NEW socks for those with no fixed address (ie. homeless\, housing insecure\, etc).  Their needs are different as they walk a lot each day and foot health is critical to their overall health.  Of the people who will benefit from these warm socks\, 80% are men\, and 20% are women.\n\nPlease drop off NEW wool or wool blend socks at Clarkson Road Presbyterian Church (1338 Clarkson Road North\, Mississauga).  These are warm\, insulating\, durable\, absorb moisture and dry quickly. They can be bought in bulk at Costco\, Giant Tiger\, Mark’s\, Walmart\, Dollarama\, etc. and are often labelled as work socks.\n\nDonations can be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays between 9am – 2pm.

But what exactly did Jesus do to save us from our sins? Why was the cross necessary\, and what does it mean for us today? In “Savior: What the Bible Says About the Cross“\, Magrey deVega faithfully describes the need for reconciliation between humankind and a holy God through Jesus’ death on the cross. The Bible uses many images to understand the meaning of Jesus’ death and resurrection\, and deVega guides us through these images to achieve a richer understanding of the Christian faith.
